A Few Steps from the Square
Argegno, Lake Como, Lake Como, Italy
Why We Selected It

Argegno sits where Lake Como meets the Intelvi Valley, and this apartment places you a few steps from its lively main square — close enough to stroll to the cafés, restaurants and the lake, yet quietly set within a well-maintained residential complex below the road. The position is the first thing: the village is small (fewer than 700 people), but it has a genuine year-round life, a harbour, and the historic funivia — the cable car that climbs to Pigra, 800 metres above the lake, in under ten minutes. The apartment itself is bright and fully furnished, with large windows and a partial lake view from inside; the real panorama belongs to the swimming pool, which looks straight down the lake toward the Bellagio promontory. A private garden, a garage and a cellar complete the property — amenities that make it usable from day one, whether as a holiday home or a rental investment. At €395,000, it is a practical, low-maintenance entry point on the western shore, where lakefront access is usually far more expensive.

Life Here
Argegno
A village of under 700 people on Lake Como's western shore, halfway between Como and Menaggio, at the mouth of the Intelvi Valley. Roman in origin — its name may derive from the consul Publius Caesius Archigenes — it has a harbour, a lively main square, cafés and restaurants, and the historic funivia, a cable car that climbs to Pigra, 800 metres above, in under ten minutes, opening onto mountain trails and a panorama of the entire lake.
The pool and garden
The communal pool is set on the hillside with a sweeping view down the lake toward the Bellagio promontory — the best panorama in the complex. The private garden gives you a quieter corner of your own, for dining or reading outdoors from spring to autumn.
The lake
From Argegno's harbour, boats run to Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo and the villas of the Tremezzina. The funiva lifts you above the shore to the Intelvi Valley's walking trails and the village of Pigra. Como is 15 minutes south by road; the Swiss border and Lugano are within easy reach north.
Getting there
Como is 15 km to the south, Milan about 50 km via the Como–Milan motorway, and Milan Malpensa roughly an hour by road. Buses on the C110 and C120 lines stop at Argegno; the nearest railway is Como San Giovanni, with trains to Milan Cadorna and Milan Central.
As an investment
Fully furnished and ready to let from day one, the apartment suits a buyer who wants a self-funding holiday home or a low-maintenance base on the western shore. Argegno's year-round life, harbour and cable car make it a steady draw for lake visitors who prefer a real village to a tourist resort.
Our Perspective
Why it works
A bright, fully furnished 90 m² apartment with a private garden, communal pool, garage and cellar, a few steps from Argegno's main square — on the western shore of Lake Como, at €395,000, a price where most options give you far less amenity and no garage.
Ownership case
The residential complex with lift and pool keeps maintenance modest while delivering resort-style amenity, and the garage and cellar add practical value. Fully furnished and positioned in a village with year-round life, it works equally as a turnkey holiday home or a self-funding rental.
What makes it special
The position — a few steps from Argegno's square, harbour and the funivia to Pigra — combined with a private garden, a panoramic communal pool, and the rare inclusion of a garage, all within a fully furnished, move-in-ready interior.
Best suited for
A buyer who wants a furnished, low-maintenance Lake Como base in a real village with a harbour and a cable car, with enough amenity to let it confidently — equally suited as a holiday home or a rental investment.
