Akrotiri sits at the southern end of the caldera rim, away from the crowds of Fira and Oia but on the same cliff. The village is still a village — a supermarket, a few tavernas, the excavations of the Bronze Age town below it — and the caldera view starts a two-minute walk from the door. The house is one of several in a small complex but has its own entrance, parking and pool rather than shared facilities. At €550,000 for 100 m² with a private pool on the rim side of Santorini, it is priced well under what Oia asks for the same view.

Ownership case

Akrotiri lets strongly through the summer and its position — pool, three bedrooms, walking distance to the view — suits family bookings rather than couples-only cave suites. The season is concentrated from May to October and short-term letting on the island is regulated, so confirm current licensing before assuming a yield. Building permits on the caldera rim are tightly restricted, which limits new supply. At this price the purchase also sits within the Greek residence-by-investment thresholds in most categories; check with a lawyer, as the rules have changed recently.
