Polis sits at the north-western end of Cyprus, where the island stops being a resort coast and becomes farmland, forest and the Akamas peninsula. The town has kept its square, its tavernas and its Saturday rhythm, and the beach below it is a long stretch of open sand rather than a hotel strip. This house is on a quiet no-through road three hundred metres back from that water. Polis rents strongly from May to October — quieter than Paphos or Ayia Napa, which suits families and walkers rather than short-break crowds — so expect a shorter season but steadier, longer bookings. Check the development's communal charges and the condition of the flat roof before committing.
