Pombo Classic Residence, Santander
Puerto Chico, beside Paseo de Pereda, Santander, Spain
Why We Selected It

Santander is one of the few Spanish cities where a serious, well-built apartment beside the water still costs less than a modest flat in Madrid or Barcelona. What decided us here was the building itself: façade and roof have been rehabilitated in their entirety, the original entrance hall, ironwork and mosaic floors survive, and behind that the apartment has been rebuilt from scratch — kitchen, three en-suite bathrooms and joinery all new and never used. Add four large south-facing openings on a flat, walkable street beside Paseo de Pereda, and the case is simple: nothing to do, nothing to negotiate down, and a position that will always be wanted.
The Home

Apartment in a restored noble building, freehold · Completely rebuilt, never lived in
A 140 m² apartment on the second floor of a fully restored noble building in Puerto Chico, one street back from the bay — south-facing through two miradores and two balconies, with ceilings over three metres and everything inside brand new.
- About 140 m² on the second floor — effectively a third, as the building has a mezzanine — with ceilings above three metres.
- Three bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom; kitchen, bathrooms and wardrobes are fitted and furnished.
- Four large openings to the south: two glazed miradores and two balconies, so the apartment is lit all day.
- Completely reformed and never occupied — new installations, new finishes throughout.
- Part of a noble building restored in full, façade and roof included; the original stair, lift, stained glass and hydraulic tiles remain.
- Puerto Chico address, flat streets, everything on foot: Paseo de Pereda, Calle Castelar, Plaza Pombo.
Life Here
Puerto Chico
The small-boat harbour and the cafés along Castelar are at the end of the street; this is the part of Santander people actually live in year-round.
The bay
Paseo de Pereda runs along the water a minute away, and the Sardinero beaches are a short walk or a few minutes by car.
Everyday
Flat, walkable, fully served — markets, restaurants, galleries and the Centro Botín all within the neighbourhood.
Rhythm
A northern city with a real winter life, not a resort that empties in September.
Our Perspective
Why it works
A finished, never-used home of proper proportions in the best residential pocket of Santander, in a building that has already had its expensive work done.
Ownership case
Three en-suite bedrooms make this equally workable as a family home, a two-household base or a long-let. Santander's prime central stock is limited and rarely rebuilt to this standard, and buyers here are mostly domestic and year-round rather than seasonal — which makes resale steadier than in coastal markets.
What makes it special
Three en-suite bedrooms and ceilings above three metres in a building fully restored down to its façade and roof; four south-facing openings — two miradores and two balconies — light the apartment all day, and Puerto Chico is at the end of the street.
Best suited for
A buyer who wants a serious city apartment beside the water, ready to move into, without Madrid or Barcelona pricing.
